Nick on his way up the second climb of the day. Another Moderate to get used to gear placement.

Getting higher up the rock face.

Nearing the top now.

A wide view of Burbage North towards Stanage.

Only one left to climb.

Light fading over the Burbage Valley.

The following day now and the weather seemed a little unpredictable but we still headed up to Stanage Edge.

A beautiful view over towards Castleton - although the weather looks a bit ominous!
And then it snowed and hailed pretty heavy for a few minutes! No climbing for the moment but some fanatastic winter feelings!
And as if by magic there was blue sky above us and remained like this for pretty much the rest of the day!
Simply stunning! No better place in the Peak District!
Also blessed to have the entire crag to ourselves. No other climbers about.

Lets just say that climb was a little tight in places!

See!
Dark clouds that never made it this way.

Still an empty crag.
Lovely late afternoon sunshine with a few climbers now turning up.
Stanage Edge. I love the way the smoke over there looks like a Tornado!
Once the dark cloud cleared a little we could see what it left behind - a lovely winter scene on Kinder Scout.
