Today was just a short walk around Long Melford and Liston Weir. The weir is usually a beautiful place to visit although in January the lush green plants have died back to form a rather decaying sight. The weather was lovely, a light breeze and beautiful warm sunshine.

The beautiful church in Long Melford.

Zooming in on the church.

The old Water Conduit.

One of two stately homes nearby. This one is Melford Hall and owned by the National Trust.

Frossing Chad Brook.

A weir along Chad Brook.

Now following the Stour Valley Path across the open grazing marsh towards Liston.

Broad open fields and skies.

I cross the weir and head over to the two others at Liston.

A view back to Melford Church where I have just come from.

The River Stour at Liston.

Following the Stour Valley Path past Melford Library, complete with gravestones... It was here I turned left and went up Melford High Street.

Brook House. Currently up for sale at £1.4 Million. Formerly an inn back in the 18th Century, the building was actually built around 1495.

Crossing Chad Brook again.

Upriver.
