It was set to be a beautiful evening so we decided on heading up to the summit of Swyre Head (the highest point in Purbeck) to view the sunset down miles of this spectacular coastline.

The path up to Swyre Head follows the rim of the valley.

Looking past Houns Tout Cliff to St Aldhelm's Head.

The houses and Norman Chapel on St Aldhelm's Head.

Distant Isle of Wight - I think it's about 35 Miles away.

The ancient tumulus on the top of Swyre Head. It has to be one of the largest burial mounds in the area.

The breathtaking view along the coast, watching the sunset.

Worth every ounce of effort to get up here.
