Route: Bury to Clare Walk - Part 1
Nowton Park - Hawstead Lodge - Pinford End - Mickley Green - Stonecross Green - Brockley Hall - Somerton

The Bury to Clare walk is a 19 mile long trail from Nowton Park at Bury St Edmunds to the Historic Market town of Clare. Usually walked in a single day I have decided to split it into two (thanks to being dropped off and picked up - no public transport links) to film the route.

Nowton Park.

The trail away from the road and into the countryside.

There used to be a sign at the very start by the road but this seems to be missing now - this being the first indication you are now on the trail.

Fields of Rapeseed making a mosaic of yellow and green.

The Trig Point just south of Bury St Edmunds at 84m above sea level.

Some beautiful old houses along the trail.

Pinford End.

Most of the waymarking is on the footpath signs.

The trail through the woods.

On a slight hilltop overlooking the village of Brockley, the church can just be seen.

An abandoned farm house on the trail.

Heading into the village of Somerton.

Pink bluebells.

Somerton Church.
