Striding Edge - Helvellyn
Location: Helvellyn Length: 720m Grade: Unofficially Graded, regarded as roughly 0.5
Striding Edge is probably one of the most famous places on any mountain in Lakeland. It's ascent is rated as the best way to summit Helvellyn, and its lack of difficulty means that many people are able traverse this rocky ridge. There are several options when walking along the edge, you can either scramble over the top of the ridge (best and hardest route) or follow the easier path that skirts around the more difficult parts. Another advantage of summiting Helvellyn via Striding Edge is that you can start the walk from several different locations, such as Patterdale or Glenridding.
