The Stour Valley Path is a long distance route along the Suffolk and Essex boarder through the catchment area of the River Stour. Both the start and end of the walk have excellent rail links with the passing of numerous villages and towns along the way.
Towards the end of the walk the route heads through Deadham Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a real highlight on the walk. The small town of Clare marks the point where the path joins the Bury to Clare Walk, another long distance path and also around Deadham the path follows parts of the St Edmunds Way.
